WORK EXPERIENCE OPPORTUNITIES

At The George Veterinary Group we offer work experience as a week-long programme across most disciplines within the business. This allows us to present a more rounded approach to veterinary care covering pets, administration, nursing roles, and visits both at the Hospital as well as out "in the field" with ambulatory vets. We are pleased to take on any students who are genuinely interested in veterinary care and who want to learn more about what we do. Download further useful information here.

We get a lot of enquiries about opportunities for work experience, but if you would like to be considered then please email: workexperience@georgevetgroup.co.uk

PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE CURRENTLY ONLY ABLE TO CONSIDER APPLICATIONS FOR 2020 AND BEYOND

Current Opportunities:

CLIENT CARE - full and/or part time

CLOSING DATE: We are currently reviewing applications; thank you for your patience

Vacancy Client Care

We have an opportunity for someone to join our team either in a part time role or perhaps as a full time team member. This role would be availble from mid-September and would most likely suit someone living in the areas around our 3 or our 4 clinics in Nailsworth, Tetbury and the Veterinary Hospital in Malmesbury. There might be occasional cover required at our clinic in Royal Wootton Bassett but this would be rare and so this role is less likely to attract anyone living near our clinic there. Although we have a rota in mind, this is is not set in stone at this stage and will depend in part on the appplications received.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • An effective communicator
  • Great with people and pets in all situations!
  • Able to multi-task in a busy (and sometimes noisy) environment
  • Confident with computers and handling phone calls
  • Able to drive to any of our locations

Based on previous experience, this is a role which will attract a great many applications. We will aim to acknowledge all applications within 72 hours of receipt, but please note that we will not be able to invite all for interview and it is likely to be up to a week after the closing date before you hear back from us.

Applications with CV and cover letter to Head of Client Care, Faith Davies-Burns.

DISPENSARY ADMINISTRATOR - Part-time (1 weekday and 1 Saturday morning)

CLOSING DATE: Applications for this post are still welcome but we are already reviewing those received.

This opportunity requires an applicant who can afford one full day every week (8am-5pm) and then a Saturday morning (8.30am - 12pm). Accuracy, diligence and a confidence in dealing with clients face to face and on the phone are key skills for the role in our Pharmacy, working alongside our veterinary teams and a small dispensing team. Most of the enquiries and collections of medicines will be from our farm clients. Click the title link above for more details. Full training will be given.

Applications with C.V. and covering letter to Jason Vernon

***************************************************************************************************************************************

NOTE TO ALL APPLICANTS: Your cover letter is JUST as important as your C.V.

We're only looking for candidates who care; your cover letter tells us more than you realise about your suitability for a role within our team. With so many candidates competing for the one role (on average 30+), don't forget to sell what makes you the perfect candidate for the advertised role. We try to acknowledge every application within 72 hours of receipt. Not all candidates will be invited for interview and not always are roles offered at first interview. This can result in delays in responses for some candidates who may not have been offered an interview initially, while we consider further interviews.

Speculative enquiries or applications:
